Girl confesses lodging false FIR against husband

JAIPUR: In a dramatic turn of events, a 20-year-old girl, who had first lodged an FIR against her husband, after police interrogation confessed
it was false.
According to the police, the girl alleged her father Hari Singh had sold her off to a person in Machera village in Jaipur rural for Rs 3 lakh. The man, Hanuman Singh, forced her to marry him, and when protested, she was locked in his house and beaten regularly. The girl, a resident of Murlipura area, ran away and took shelter at her aunt's place. On Sunday, during police questioning, she said the FIR was false and her aunt had forced her to register it.
"After being sold, the girl said she was forced to come to Jaipur and live with Hanuman. Fearing she might approach the police, Hanuman married her on June 17," a police officer said.
She alleged she was tied by ropes and severely beaten by Hanuman, his father Satyanarayan Singh and other family members. In the FIR, she had stated that on June 25, she managed to escape from house and approached her aunt, who lives in Alwar.
The police were in for a shock when they interrogated the victim on Sunday. "She told us that her uncle and aunt had forced her to lodge the FIR. Her father and uncle had a fight during her marriage in June. To teach her father a lesson, her uncle had lodged the FIR," Himayu Kabir Khan, incharge of Mulripura police station, said. The police have decided to take action against the girl and her uncle and aunt.

The police were in for a shock when they interrogated the victim on Sunday. "She told us that her uncle and aunt had forced her to lodge the FIR. Her father and uncle had a fight during her marriage in June. To teach her father a lesson, her uncle had lodged the FIR," Himayu Kabir Khan, incharge of Mulripura police station, said. The police have decided to take action against the girl and her uncle and aunt.
