Met Dept forecast heavy torrential rains in North India

New Delhi: Indian Metrological Department has predicted heay torrential rains in next 24 hours in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.After the south India has been lashed by the worst ever torrential rains, now its the turn of North India to face such type of situation.

Met department predicted that several states in enitre North and North Eastern India will get heavy downpour. The states include Bihar, Haryana, Konkan, Goa and north Madhya Maharashtra, while rain thundershowers may hit Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh, south Madhya Maharashtra, few places in east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat region, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and isolated places in Punjab, Jammu, Kashmir, Saurashtra, Kutch, Marathwada, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail in west Rajasthan. The Southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and active in West Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra. It has been subdued over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.Heavy to very heavy rains occured at most places in west Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Konkan and Goa.

Heavy shower lashed many places in east Madhya Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers hit most places in Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Marathwada, Telangana, south interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep and isolated places in Haryana, Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka and Kerala.
